Dear Participants,

It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to Muğla for the very first session of Menteşe Anatolian High School Model United Nations (MUNTAL), where the winds of justice will guide our discussions. I Hande Özel, am honored to serve as the Secretary-General of this conference.


I am currently an 11th-grade student at Menteşe Anatolian High School. Over time, I have come to realize that many of the major issues in both the world and our immediate surroundings stem from injustice. Unequal opportunities, a lack of legal accountability, the widening gap in income distribution, and social discrimination deeply affect both individuals and societies. It was through MUN conferences that we found a platform to examine these issues more closely and explore possible solutions. Throughout this journey, I’ve learned that MUN is not only a place where global issues are discussed but also a space where we raise social awareness and learn the importance of empathy. This year, under the roof of MUNTAL, we have committed ourselves to thoroughly explore the concept of justice and to develop solutions surrounding topics such as the rule of law, human rights, equal opportunity, and moral responsibility. I wholeheartedly believe that, with the participation of you esteemed delegates, we will be able to reach our goals.


By choosing “Justice”as this year’s theme, MUNTAL seeks to address pressing global issues such as social inequality, human rights violations, the erosion of judicial independence, and global injustice. This conference is not only a space to discuss these challenges but also a platform to generate innovative solutions, think from diverse perspectives, and connect with like-minded individuals who dream of a fairer world. Injustice is sometimes a silent scream, and at other times, an unheard plea. In this conference, we aim to provide not only a platform where you can freely express your ideas, but also a rich and thought-provoking environment shaped by conscience, equality, and responsibility, while also being an enjoyable and dynamic experience. As the MUNTAL Secretariat, we designed this conference not just as an academic event, but as a meaningful experience where delegates will discover their leadership potential, enhance their analytical thinking, and gain a deeper understanding of justice. Here, while raising awareness on justice-related issues on a global scale, you will also have the chance to socialize and form strong bonds with individuals who share the same ideals. We truly believe that we, the youth who will shape the future, can make the world a more livable place not only with knowledge, but also with a consciousness grounded in justice. With this vision in mind, we invite you not only to debate, but also to become part of the solution and take an active role in this journey.
